Costs

Our costs vary depending on the type of work that is carried out.

Support
We offer several levels of support on a retainer fee basis (where you pay us a monthly fee to look after your technology).

Basic support. Includes ONLY support for selected individual machines when a problem occurs (for example e-mail is not working, cannot connect to server or machine has crashed). The package does not usually include general improvements (such as requests to change font in Microsoft Word or advice on the use of software). Includes all software updates (technicians will check updates and virus checking software when on-site or from remote access) and advice on hardware upgrades.

Basic Support Plus. The same as Basic Support but includes regular health-checks and software optimisation. Also includes an initial software audit to document all computers, software, usernames and passwords of the various utilities and specifications. This will help to identify which machines are likely to need to be replaced or upgraded first and will help to centralise your IT documentation.

Consultancy Plus. Includes meetings at regular intervals to discuss the continuous improvement of technology within the organisation, followed by relevant actions, such as research and identification of various options open to the organisation and the likely costs. Finally an action plan will be drawn up for implementation over the next six to twelve months. Other work (for instance installation of new software) will be charged at the normal hourly rate.

Our hourly rate
For instant troubleshooting and general installation work we provide a service for small and medium sized organisations without a retainer fee. Many IT support organisations require a fixed annual retainer that is paid BEFORE they provide assistance, but, if you require immediate troubleshooting we can help you and will charge at our hourly rates.

At e fortiori we charge £50 per hour 8.00am – 6.30pm Monday to Friday and £60 per hour at all other times (plus VAT). This charge covers telephone assistance AND on-site technical assistance so it won’t cost you a penny more to have a technician come to your premises. Many other support organisations charge extra for on-site support.

All we require from you is a short meeting (no charge involved) for us to introduce ourselves and familiarise ourselves with your business and your technology. This will allow us to set up a support account and note your technology details (which will help us to serve you better when you need us).

We would prefer to get to know you first but if you have an immediate problem we can set up an account after we have sorted out your problem – we can pay you a visit, resolve your problem and introduce ourselves at the same time.

Consultancy
Our consultancy costs vary according to the size of the job in hand and the type of work required. In most cases this will depend on the number of users and the extent of the work carried out.

In most cases the work will be carried out over a number of months involving analysis of current systems and identification of possible solutions.

If you choose us to carry out the implementation of hardware or software we will charge the hourly rate mentioned above.
